Mission Statement

The City of Aledo shall protect the health, safety and welfare of the community through the adoption and enforcement of model codes.  Enforcement of the codes shall be uniform and without regard to position, political persuasion or ocio-economic status.  The City shall provide prompt, courteous and professional code services to the community and emphasize quality customer service in its code endeavors.  A continuous effort shall be made to ensure that codes and code practices are cost-efficient and not present an unnecessary hardship to the citizens of Aledo.

The Code Administration Department performs a variety of inspection and compliance services, including: 
    Plan Reviews 
    Permits 
    Inspections 
    Subdivision Plats 
    Nuisance Complaints (weeds, junk, junk vehicles, etc.) 
    Housing Complaints 
    Property Maintenance Enforcement


Location and Office Hours

The Code Administration Department is on the first floor of City Hall, 120 N. College Avenue; Aledo, IL  61231. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  If desiring a meeting with the inspector, please contact the office at (309) 582-7241, Ext. 205, to schedule an appointment.
