The Aledo City Council approved a Resolution on Monday, May 21st approving a development services agreement with Bluestem Energy Solutions LLC. The City of Aledo City Administrator has recommended that the City consider an agreement with Bluestem Energy Solutions, LLC, a Nebraska Limited Liability company, for the possible development of an energy generation facility in Aledo, Illinois, with the goal of entering into a long term power purchase agreement. The City of Aledo Public Property, Streets & Sidewalks Committee voted to recommend approval of a Development Services Agreement between the City of Aledo and Bluestem.
The Feasibility Study will provide the determination if solar panels or wind turbines would be a fit to the area. The City has no obligation to move forward after the completion of the study and can choose to not pursue any outcomes with no charge incurred. The Development Services will include the creation of agreed upon project scope for assessment and assess all legal and regulatory constraints and opportunities. There will be a customer system load and infrastructure review, along with land procurement if required. Also, an analysis on technology procurement will be completed with the feasibility study providing the present economic impact of all potential projects to customers.
All information regarding the feasibility study will be forwarded back to the Public Property, Streets & Sidewalks Committee after completion in late, 2018. A recommendation will be made at that time and forwarded onto the Aledo City Council for final approval.
