Aledo Multi-Use Path Construction

Work has begun on the Aledo Multi-Use Path along Route 17! This is a grant project through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Project (ITEP) that provides eighty percent (80%) funding for the project. The multi-use path will run along the South Route 17 from SE 8th Avenue through SE 15th Avenue and provide a safe accessibility to high traffic businesses located near the intersection of 17/94. This multi-use path will be physically separated from the motorized vehicular traffic through a highway right-of-way open space barrier and can be used by all users such as pedestrians, bicyclists, skaters, and other non-motorized users.  Please be prepared while traffic is re-routed throughout the day during construction. When completed, the path with mark the first completed phase of the overall project and provide safe travel along Route 17. A big thank you to all the residents and businesses directly affected by the construction process!
